How can I get my 3 y.o DS to stop peeing in Pull-up? He does #2 in potty and sometimes pees(just mastered standing up) in the potty but doesn't tell us when he gets the "urge".

  • Get rid of the pull-ups. Yes, you'll have to deal with accidents for a while, but he'll get the idea. When you catch your son going pee in them, immediately take him to the toilet and tell him "This is where we go pee." Pretty soon, he'll make the connection, but you have to take him to the toilet every time you catch him peeing his pants. If he happens to pee in the toilet, reward him in some manner; candy, crazy dance, hug, whatever you prefer.

  • Put him in underwear
kids don't see a difference between diapers and pull ups,so they figure you pee in a diaper, pullup, same thing

  • I wouldn't worry about it . . . your baby will be ready soon enough. Their neurological systems are still not fully developed, and we cannot expect that they "feel" urgency the same way we do. Rest assured, she will be a fully pottty-trained kindergartener. :)

  • You set a timer and every 30 -40 minutes say "It's potty time" make it really positive. if he has an accident just say "Yh oh" and let it go. Don't ask them if they need to go. Just tell them it is time to go potty. Refusal isn't an option.

  • Have you tried letting him go naked on the bottom? If he has an accident, he gets to help clean it up too.
