What time do your school age kids go to bed and how old are they?

My son is 12 and has a 9 pm bedtime. He thinks its way to early but my husband works early so that is the time the whole house goes to bed and we do not like the idea of him staying up without us up since he would stay up way later then he should. So I am curious to see what others times are.

  • DD is 10, as per doctor´s orders, her bedtime is 8pm. But we start getting ready at 7:50, so we rarely are perfectly on time, she goes between 8:15 and 8:30

  • My 12 yo son, 7th grade, also goes to bed at 9pm. My 14yo daughter, 9th grade, goes to bed at 9:30. I don't wake them up in the morning, but if they are late the next day they go to bed 1/2 hour earlier.

  • We work things a little different here at my house. Everyone has to be in their rooms by 8-8:30 and I dont care if they are teens or tweens. I close the kitchen lol and the rest of the house and they have to go to their rooms. They can watch TV or listen to music, read or whatever they want, but have to be in bed no later then 9:30. If they stay up later its on them. I come up and wake everyone at 6am. Our youngest however is in bed by 7:30-8pm and usually falls asleep between 8-8:30. Shes in kindergarten though. But by Id say 3rd grade they all have the first "bedtime".

  • My 10-year-old goes up at 8:00 but is allowed to read in bed as long as he wants. I generally have no idea how long he lasts, but he's up before me at 6:00 a.m. every single day, even on the weekends.
