How do you use your Vote Ups?

Do you vote up answers you agree with? People who you appreciate for answering your question?

I do both of these.

Do you vote up people who are your friends here to help them out?

No good or bad answers, just curious.

  • I usually vote up answers when I agree with all or most of what they said. Sometimes I vote up answers if they make me laugh. Sometimes I vote people up just for answering my question, but on debates I tend to only vote up answers that I agree with or answers that are particularly well written even if my perspective is different. I try not to vote down answers on my own questions, and I usually reserve those for really rude, hateful answers or occasionally for dangerous advice. I usually quote and respond more than I down vote, but I love to vote people up. Another thing I sometimes do is vote up answers if I noticed that they were down voted and they were not rude and it seemed to be an unnecessary down vote IMO.

  • I vote up everyone who answers my questions (unless they are rude/mean) -- Otherwise, I vote up those I agree with.

  • I vote up when I like the answer mainly because they stayed on topic. Also, I find that humor is a good way of getting a thumbs up. I don't have any friends on here but I guess that wouldn't be fair to give them a thumbs up unless they answered me with a worthy one.

  • I do the same as tiddliwinks, everyone who answers my questions gets a vote up, and on others questions I vote up the answers that I think are good answers or I agree with what they said.

  • I usually vote up anyone who answers any of my questions. Unless they were completely rude or out of line. Other than that I vote up who I agree with in a question. I will also vote someone up I may not agree with in the response but recognize they have a good point.

  • I will also vote someone up who I have seen has gotten a vote down for no darn reason.

  • I don't vote up according to who posted the answer. Most times, I don't even pay attention to who posted what answers. I vote up the answers with good information in them. I have even voted up answers I don't necessarily agree with, too. Just because I don't agree with someone doesn't mean their answer is automatically bad. But, I also don't just use my vote up blindly. And, NO...I don't vote up just to help friends get points.

  • Good answer, great answer, answer to think about, brave answer, honest answer, good answer from a friend, and answer that needs to stay open due to large number of down votes, I like the answer, I agree with the answer, reciprocal up vote for voting my answer up, funny answer, I got the irony up vote, I may not agree but it was worded well up vote, the only answer that was on topic up vote, you answered my question up vote, I feel like giving out up votes, your answer made me smile up vote.....et cetera, et cetera.

There is always a reason for it. and sometimes you're not going to figure it out. :)
