Can you do simple embroidery with a normal sewing machine or does it take a special program?

I just want to make an exclamation point that isn't filled in on the center, and has an "S" inside of it.

Can that be done on any basic brand of machine?

Pic of my half-arsed explanation of what I need to do, lol.

  • You could possibly do a free motion quilting type deal with it....there are tuts on you tube, where they use a darning foot and do free motion "grafiti" could trace the pattern onto your frabric, but you might end up with too much thread build up?! Worth a shot though?! Or you could just see if someone has a machine and could do it for you for cheap :)

  • It will be next to impossible to do it on a regular machine.

  • Why not just hand-stitch it?

  • Dang, so I have to buy one of the high dollar ones?

Are there any for less then $300-400?

  • You don't need a machine to do that. It's simple enough to do by hand.

  • Doing it by hand would be a tad bit too much work. I plan to put it on quite a few things. :)
