  • Yes, they should be able to. And I bet if someone were to go into an orphanage and ask all the children who had been there awhile if they would rather have 2 mommies or 2 daddies, or stay in the orphanage another 6 years... most of the children would opt for the same-gender parents.
As to the people saying it shouldn't be allowed because being gay is a "sin"... the bible also says the adultery and divorce are sins. So does that mean straight people who have gotten a divorce, or had premarital sex, shouldn't be allowed to adopt either? Or is it just gays? If so, what is the difference to you between a gay couple, and a straight couple who have both been divorced before?

  • Of course it is... Love is Love, no matter what.

  • Of course I do! Sexual orientation has nothing to do with one's ability to be a parent... And no, being raised by two loving same sex partners will NOT "turn you gay"...

  • Yes, unless they are unfit, the same way a straight couple is checked out!

  • Yes! There are plenty of unwanted children who deserve loving homes!

  • Hell yes! Just because they are gay doesn't make them less of a parent.

  • April_f, nobody CHOOSES to be gay, just like you didn't CHOOSE to be straight. You just are. Also, how about a woman who had ovarian cancer, and had a hysterectomy? Should she not be allowed to adopt, because she can't have children naturally? How about a guy who's shooting blanks?
