WYR own a Boxer or a German Shepherd?

I have owned both breeds of dogs and love them both, but i am leaning towards the Boxer this time. The only difference now is that i have 4 young boys i have to think about and i think the boxer would be a better fit....from my experience boxers are more tolerant of young children. What are you thoughts?

  • Neither, I'd take a rescue mutt over any purebred any day... They're usually more even tempered, and less prone to inbred issues (like hip dysplacia with the German Shepherds, for example). But if I HAD to choose, I'd go for the boxer.

  • I didn't mean to imply that, team21. And I know most breeds have rescue groups too, so kudos to you for doing that. I meant more that I think in general, mutts tend to have less health issues and/or temperament issues than purebreds.
