Pregnancy glucose drink (ew..)

how accurate are those results? if they say "you failed it and have gestational diabetes" is there any gray area or is it black and white?

  • It is really gray. There are a lot of false positives that cause you to have to take the 3 hour one, which is just torture. There are more accurate ways of determining GD. A lot of midwives and OBs just have you eat a regular or a little heavier breakfast and then take it because it is about the same.

  • The one hour one can be a grey area, that is why they do the three hour. If that comes back--there is no grey area--you have GD.

  • I have no idea but I do have to say that those drinks weren't as bad as I thought they would be. They were actually kinda good!
