Buy the turkey in a bag: all you have to do is put it in the oven, basically.
Turkey is easy enough as it is...just get a butterball (doesn't need basting), season the outside with a compound butter, and roast until done.
I put a salted turkey breast in a covered roasting pan and bake until the thermometer pops up. That's about as simple as it gets. I cook it the day before the holiday, and just reheat the next day. I also cook up the bones for stock. I hope this helps.
