  • There are videos online and books like knitting for dummies. Your library should have books on it too.

  • Baby blankets are an easy place to start - there are tons of simple patterns out there, and actually, my son's blanket was the first thing I ever made. I got it off, as well as the instructions for basic knitting techniques. :)
    Good luck!

  • Go to your local library and find a beginning knitting book. There are also simple knitting books available at craft stores.

  • Good ideas in PP's! :-)

You can also check your area for classes at your local craft stores or (if you are lucky enough to have them in your area) YARN SHOPS. Sometimes yarn stores have an area for customers to just sit and knit or crochet. This is a GREAT place to get help. Crafters are usually very supportive of newcomers to their craft.

TIP: If you are not already an experienced hand sewer, instead of knitting strips or squares to sew together into a blanket; look for a pattern that will allow you to knit the whole blanket in one piece. Use a long circular needle, and just turn the work each row, as if you were knitting with the standard pair of needles. GL :-)
