2wk old wanting to eat almost every hour

My two week old son wants to eat almsot every hour. Or every 2 hours. If he doesn't eat he cries, and cries, and cries.. Any idea's why? He has a check up Monday.. I heard they go through growth spurts.. But i'm not sure if this is it.

  • How far apart are you feeding him? Every 2 hours is normal at his age

  • an hour to two is completely normal for the first couple months..they need the nutrition...their tummys aren't that big...if he's crying, feed him. They need to eat on demand at that age and they go through plenty of growth spurts. But yes, he's hungry.

  • That is really normal. Happy Motherhood! =)

I wouldn't try and change it. It's going to be like this for the first few months and eventually get longer in between feedings and then they will eat more each time.

  • Very normal especially if you are nursing. You need to feed on demand and yes it is possible for it to be a growth spurt.

  • Totally normal. Don't let the poor baby cry and cry and cry. If you know he's hungry, feed him!

  • It is normal and nobody told me that, either! I nursed all of them and some days I honestly wondered why I even put a shirt on it was that crazy! It will pass....=)
