  • I'd get a sleep sack, it's much safer! I'm in Minnesota, and I'm dressing my little boy in a sleeper or long-sleeved T-shirt with a sleep sack. Occasionally (like when everything is dirty), I'll put him in a gown to sleep and pull a blanket up to his waist (tuck it in under the mattress and make sure it only comes belly button high). Remember, baby only needs to be as warm as you are! :)

  • sleep sacs are great for sleeping at night! If you can find a pattern at a sewing shop, you could even make one with a hood to keep her head warm too. Also, sleep sacs come with and without sleeves so you should be able to find something that will keep her warm enough on those really nippy nights.

  • I've been checking my son while he's sleeping to make sure he's not too cold. Feel her chest and head, if they're chilly, she needs more layers!

  • My daughter has had a blanket since about a month old. She didn't take to swaddling after that point. She kicked it down her body, not up. Just watch what your child does.
