What weapon would you use?

Picture yourself as an explorer in outer space and land on a rainforest planet. You've encountered a hostile alien people who want to take the place over as well as you and your crew. It is not their native planet. They seem to be a bug-like species.
What kind of weapon would you use to get your message of 'I'm not going quietly' across?

  • I might use something that would help me drown them instantly. A sort of transport gun that would drop them in the nearest large and deep body of water. It is a rainforest after all and I would hate to destroy the innocent wildlife there.
