Teaching a 6 year old to sew?

My 6 year old wants to learn to sew, but I can't find classes. I am a decent sewer, but could use some book ideas or web references to help teach my daughter. Any ideas? Words of wisdom?

  • I don't know if you have one by you or not, but A.C. Moore has kids classes. My grandma taught me counted cross stitch when I was 7 or so and I loved it. Good luck to your daughter!

  • YouCanMakeThis.com has a couple cute and free patterns for 18 inch doll skirts that might be a project for her. I printed them out and I don't even sew, lol.

  • Why not join a CafeMom group about sewing? Maybe even start your own.
