  • Anything over about $25, lol. I know that doesn't sound like much, but we have just about every penny budgeted for one thing or another(savings, bills, groceries, etc), so much more than that would need to be 'approved' by both of us.

  • A 'Major' purchase to me besides the obvious(car and house) I would say anything over $500.

  • anything over $100.

We're not rich, but we're not poor. The reason we're not poor is because we budget well. If we always spent over $100 on anything we wanted, we'd be poor. So, if we want something over $100, we talk about it with each other. That is our cut off limit for spending.

  • Anything that's not a necessity. ie: hubby needs new shoes & lab coats for work. That has to be purchased & planned for around a pay week. Thank goodness the income tax refund comes in time for our 2 March B-days. :)

  • I agree with a car and a home being a major purchase. I also think anything over $500 is a pretty big purchase.

  • it depends on the family. DH & I arent strict budgeters but then again, we run all purchases by each other. sometimes we need the reality check. lol i tend to get a bit crazy with baby clothes. =[
