  • My first two have middle names that are my mothers first and middle names. Lucky for me she had a male middle name (Curtis after her father) since my first was a male. We did participate in my husbands third generation of all J-names though despite the cheese factor. Guess since I was a J-name there was no getting out of it! One of my baby names Id loved forever was a J-name though. I hate being compared to the Duggars though! LOL

  • Not directly. My husband's grandmother's name was Ila. We name our first child Isabela. If you take out the s-a-b-e, you have Ila. We did it on purpose, but it isn't the same name or even very close.

  • My son, as far as I know does not have a family name. My daughter's middle name though is to honor my paternal grandmother. SHE was an amazing woman and was also the first woman I knew as my mother. I would have named my daughter for her instead of a middle name, but there are too many Ann's in the family already and I don't want to confuse the issue.

  • My oldest son has DH's first name as his middle(I was going to make him a Jr., but DH said no! lol) and we were going to name my younger DD after my grandmother, but we couldn't really decide on a combination we liked. So we went with our original instinct to pick unique names for our kids :) I had met only one person with the name Aurora until recently, when I was at my DDs' school, and there were two little girls named Aurora(the older one) and Riley(the younger one), just like my DDs! lol
