3 Bumps

Poop question...

My 6 month old use to poop a few times a day, now its only like once every 3 or 4 days which always turns out to be a gross mess. Shes breast feed and not on solids yet I thought it was the vitamins at first so I stopped giving them too her but it didn't help. Is this normal?

  • You can also give her some water to sip. Make sure she is having more than enough breastmilk to keep her hydrated. When you start solids, make sure she gets some "prunes" every day.

  • She may be dehydrated. Are you sure she's getting enough fluids?
I would honestly call your child's doctor. They know your child better than many people on here.
Hope you get some answers soon!

  • Are you giving her vitamins because her pediatrician told you to do so?? If he didn't don't do it. Breastmilk provides all the nutrition that a child needs at that age.

As for the stools...like others have said - make sure she's hydrated enough. (Prunes every day, not needed).
