Aside from the usual ways...

how has motherhood changed you?

There are a lot of "normal" answers, i.e. "I quit partying", "My body looks differently", etc. - but has anything else changed about you since becoming a mother?

For me, I can think of 3 "odd" things:
1. I can no longer sleep in contacts. Before getting pregnant with my oldest, I'd wear the same pair of lenses for weeks without so much as taking them out. The moment I became pregnant, I'd do good to make it 12 hours without having to remove them.
2. I get car sick. Never became so much as slightly nauseas in a car until getting pregnant. Thought that would go away after I delivered, but - nope. 3 years later I'm still sick as a dog on curvy roads.
3. I have a difficult time watching horror films. I used to be a scary-movie junkie. There wasn't a horror flick out there I wouldn't watch. While blood and guts still doesn't bother me, I have to really pump myself up in order to press play.

  • My shoe size is a half size bigger even though I lost all the baby weight. I have more weird dreams. I am more germ-conscious than ever before.
