  • Also, sitters often charge just a small extra amount for each additional child. (i.e. 1.00 per hour more per additional child) Check out www.sittercity.com. I've found some good sitters there. Good luck!

  • I think it depends on where you live. We live in the (FAR) South suburbs of Chicago, and I pay a 19-year old $6.00 an hour to watch my 21-month old.

  • ask the kid what s/he expects, but i'd think that $2-3/hr/kid is reasonable. so $6-9/hr for your 3 kids.

  • I live in Eastern Montana and while I personally don't have babysitters for my kids, my friend usually pays 1.50 to 2.00 per hour when she has sitters. I think I'd pay a little more, maybe 3.00 per hour.

  • I have a college student watch my 2 kids. 4 and 7 month she normally gets 10 an hour from all her other sitting jobs. So I pay her 11 or 12 an hour so she will stay with my kids and if another sitting job comes up She will pick my kids over the other moms!!!!! :)

  • I'm in NY and I pay my 15 yo babysitter about $8-$10 per hour to watch my three boys. I probably overpay for my area, but he's great with the boys and my kids love it when he watches them so it's a win/win for us.
