6 Bumps

Dont know whats going on...............

For the last 6 weeks Joreena has been going to sleep at 7pm and only waking up for one feed at 3ish then will sleep til 7am. The last 4 nights she has been getting up every 2 hours to eat and will suck down 4oz likes its nobodys business. What could she be going thru? Should I try to give her more milk and maybe change the nipple to a medium flow?

  • I think it is a growth spurt too. You may want to try giving her 6-8 ounces and see if that helps

  • probably having a growth spurt. christopher eats like that when he's growing a lot, then calms down and goes back to his normal schedule(or at least, normal for him lol) i wouldnt worry too much give it time before changing things...then maybe check with ur dr to rule out any health concerns im sure shes fine :)

  • Growth spurts tend to come at or near "3s." It's 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, etc.... Heck, my 8 1/2 year old STILL seems to hit a major growth spurt in 3 month increments. LOL! At about 6 months away from his next birthday, he'll go to bed one night and wake up the next morning with everything in his closet noticeably shorter. At about 3 months out from his birthday I need to restock his wardrobe with the next size lest he look like he's wearing capris to school. ;)

You can adjust her intake up a bit. The growth spurt could yield a higher than average feeding demand - but even after she may still be looking for more than she gets today simply because she's fueling a bigger body. How long it lasts will depend on her. It varies with each kid. My 6 yr old will go for about a week -- still to this day - eating everything in sight right before she pops up a bit in height. Her brother will graze for longer than that. . .

  • its more than likely she is going through a growth spurt. many kids will suck down a bottle like none other and be fine for a couple of hours and then be hungry again.
