Or is it better to do it after? Is it bad to do some before and some after? Like 20 minutes of one activity, then strength training, then additional cardio, for example?
It is usually best to only work out one thing at a time....upper body lower body and cardio all separate....This way you don't over do it (most people do). But with every workout you should start with a warm up. For example stretch and walk 10 min on the treadmill then do your main workout then a cool down so walk again for another 10 min.
