Premie breathing question

My son who was born 22 days ago; and was let out of the hospital 12 days ago.. IS BREATHING HARD.

Not those breaths which you can see them breathing really hard when their shirt is off. You know the ones where they look like the only thing they can do is focus on just breathing..NOT THOSE ONES..

But he is breathing fast.

Is this normal?
What is the resparation rate of a premie?

  • just call the doctor & make sure. you say hes not having retractions, which is good. you would need to take him to the ER if he were. but if you are worried about how fast he should be breathing, call the doctor and ask.

  • i am a mother of a little boy who was born very premie and was on oxygen when he came home. you can tell that they are breathing hard by their chest mainly, or even by the sound of it. bring it up with your babies doctor and see what they say about it.
