The woman at the supermarket told me her son was in some sort of mountain facility, for kids who get into trouble.

Why would someone just straight out tell a customer that?
I have talked to her a couple times before. Should I trust her? She could be lying.

  • She could mean he is in some type of boot camp for troubled youth

What were you two talking about to bring up the subject?

  • Did she ask you for something? If not then I figure she wouldn't have a reason to lie. Maybe she just didn't have anyone to talk to and it was weighing on her heart?

  • Some people have to need to tell about every detail of their lives. I don't get it, it;s just there. I listen, and try to have a facial expression that works with their stories. (i.e., smile, grimace) There are times I don't know what to say to someone who tells me these things.

  • Don't know why she'd feel compelled to tell you that. What were you guys talking about? Do you really care if she's lying or not?

  • It was like she told me from the beggining, right away.
