  • Are there any opportunities to move up in the company, do they cross train you for other positions...ummm...IDK

  • I fear if I ask about advancement its showing a lack of interest in the position.

  • You definitely do not want to ask about career path at a first interview.

Here are questions you do want to ask. Listen carefully to the answers, and tie them back to your skills and experience.

    Why is this position open?
Please describe the ideal candidate for this position.
What are the top three challenges for the person moving into this role?
How would you describe your management style?
What would you say is the mission statement for the department?

Send me a message if you have any other questions.

  • Normally, I don't care. And you can answer anonymously. Why did you vote down my answer?

  • Also, ask them to describe the corporate culture.

  • I just answered and do not where it went Lol. I did not vote down any answers. I usually vote up all answers because I ask questions for feedback.

  • I tend to ask very specific questions about the job and less about the environment (and no, rkoloms, wasn't me...I just now logged on).
What opportunities are there for training?
What are the working conditions like (hours, overtime, weekends, etc.)?
If you are a coordinator, are you supervising people? You might ask how many people you are supervising.
What is a typical day like?
What is the atmosphere of the department (laid-back, quiet, upbeat, etc.).
If you don't already know, you might want to ask about paid time off, holidays, insurance, etc. (benefits).
