All religions are the same: religion is basically guilt, with different holidays.

~Cathy Ladman

Agree or not. Why or why not?

  • I depends on the person. I don't feel guilt because I know there will be times when I follow my faith more "religiously" than other times, but I know I feel more connected with God when I'm more active in my faith and that is the purpose for me.

  • I disagree.....I think that many people use religion as a means to guilt and control others, but I believe religion to be basically relationship with my creator and a way to relate to nature, the world, and the Creator....ritual is part of that ....celebration is what comes to my mind, not guilt.

  • for those seeking to participate in a religion, it may be true
for those seeking a personal relationship with God, your statement doesn't mean squat.

  • I don't believe religion is about guilt. At least it isn't for me. Its about love, growth - good things. It isn't about negativity, not for me.
