  • more parental involvement in the home. It seems in todays society, for a lot of people it is more about the $$ then being at home with your kids eating dinner together.

  • Aboration is wrong if you don't want a kid then get fixed sorry not trying to be mean but if you can spread your legs you know there are chances. You can always give it up for adoption there are thousand of ppl out there that would die to be able to have a kid so why kill a kid over your mistake. Sorry to ppl that have had aboration's just don't agree with them unless you medicaly have to have one

  • I persnnaly dont agree with abortions, but i have nothing against those who do get them i simply disagree. My feeling is, especially for those that want a kid ONE day, if they do decide to abort a pregnancy then when that day comes when they do have a pregnancy that ends in the delivery of a child, & they develope the overwhelming love for that child they will come to regret their past decisin.A regret i would not wish upon anyone. If you are positve you don't want to or are unable to care for the child you are bearing then there are so many parents out there that will care for & love the child, & possibly leave open the option for you to decide whether or not you want to know them in the future. But regardless it is th person who is pregnant that gets to make the decision, and honeslty i woul allow the father to have part in the decision as well, for it is his child too.No one else, including a girls parents should have a say

  • I am pro-life, just to get that out there.

Now, coming from an animal rescue background, I know that the first step to switching from high-kill to no-kill is to STOP KILLING dogs and cats. Stopping the killing forces solutions because you can't just dispose of the animals that don't fit.

I imagine it would be the same with human babies. The first step is to MAKE ABORTION ILLEGAL. It is nothing to to with women's rights, since no woman has a right to kill. It's not "her body", but the baby's body that suffers. Once abortion is illegal, that will force everyone to come up with real, workable solutions.
    1. Programs for teen moms who want to keep the baby
    2. Subsidized adoption proceedings
    3. Better reproductive education
    4. Parenting classes for all high schoolers
    5. All sex education should include statistics on foster children, teen parents, adoptions, abandoned babies, single moms on welfare, costs of child supports, etc.

  • I'm more for adoption than abortion. There are so many people in the world who want children and can't have them. To me abortion is murder. The babies have been heard that were being aborted. They screamed.

  • As far as this debate goes..Pro-life supporters, if you’re going to lobby so hard that every baby should have a chance, maybe you should also lobby hard that every baby has the best circumstances–perhaps fighting for better public education, help for low income mothers, fighting the cycle of poverty, etc. Pro-choice stance could also make better points. You spend tons of time insisting it’s a woman’s right to choose, but typically focus on the woman’s reasons (focusing on the child would mean acknowledging that it’s a child) instead of the consequences of having unwanted children. It seems like talking about the consequences of the woman’s choice has merit, rather than simply focusing on having the legal option to choose. Talking about those consequences might lead to fighting for better education about birth control, abstinence or other methods that would make abortion less necessary.

  • Education is essential here...but with abstinence being taught before anything else how can anyone be effective? Schools AND Parents should be working together to talk to kids honestly about what sex is all about and the consequences of it. Start early and there may actually be a better chance that things can change. Make programs for poor communities to educated girls and boys about sex especially. It seems that in those areas people are more concerned with survival than anything else. So giving parents more aide could really help...especially since 80% of poor families are headed by single mothers. She has to be mother and father. So she needs more support.

  • I also don't like the idea that if a girl/women does get pregnant she should just give it up for adoption. The adoption system is pretty broken for one. Adding more and more kids to the list will not improve that. So to make that option seem like a good idea those programs need to be fixed. Also, what about health care...how can you convince someone to go through 9 months of pregnancy with no way of paying for the expenses. The programs that are supposed to be there to support women are being attacked. And of course we have major issues with out health care systems. Something has to be done about that because if you are pro life then you have to care about that life and the mother's life. So how do you fix that?

  • @Mar...how do you honestly think that making abortions illegal will make people help women, when it is legal and the one place women can get access to health care is being attacked, oh and funding for WiC is being cut. Um, if these people care about your baby then why would they do that? How can you make a woman who doesn't want a child want the child when the people around her don't even seem to care about her or that child?
