Does this sound like a balanced diet for an 11 month old?

Just want some reassurance that I'm doing my job right or some tips if I'm not.

A typical day for him:

Breakfast: cheerios and fruit or oatmeal and fruit. Once or twice a week I'll make him scrambled eggs (low salt and no butter) because he LOVES eggs.

Lunch: I either steam frozen or fresh veggies and he usually gets a cup of yogurt afterward or sometimes I'll cut up a few pieces of cheddar cheese for him so he gets enough protein.

Dinner: I keep it fast and easy for dinner. He usually gets one of those Gerber meals for toddlers but I do cut up fresh or frozen (thawed) fruit for him to eat when he's done with his main course.

  • ;). Does he nurse or have formula too? I think he may need that too. Otherwise, sounds good.

  • Yes lol sorry. He does get 1 or 2 snacks a day. Usually some cheerios or some of those rice puff baby snacks or animal crackers.

  • Sounds like you are doing a really good job...Eggs are great they are full of protein a must for the little brains..and the older ones as well. You should always enjoy your food but also remember that what makes the meal is mom loving her job..When you can make sure you always offer fresh fruits and veggies...you are off to a great start..

  • Thanks ladies. I'm overweight and it started in elementary school. I'm doing my best to not pass down my old unhealthy eating habits to my son. I'm always worried about what's going in his mouth. I want him to enjoy food but in moderation and to actually like healthy food and not think of it as a chore to eat healthy. My eating habits have changed, thank goodness since I got pregnant. I started eating healthy for my baby and it just kind of became a natural thing for me. I sit down with him while he's eating and eat some of his fruits and veggies too lol. I'm always so insecure that I'm not doing the right thing for him. I'm one of those typical new moms who worries too much and over analyzes everything.
