i graduated last march and am a licensed now.
it depends on the school you go to for how hard it will be. Some are more difficult than others BUT those are the ones with the good reputations and are WORTH putting in the extra effort. Nobody I know ever failed, but a few did drop out because it just wasn't for them. If you don't have a passion to do this type of work, or if you don't have motivation and people skills, this isn't the job for you.
As far as money goes.. YOU are the decider of your own funds in this industry, if you have the passion and drive, you really can make really good money, if not, you'll be stuck making little more than minimum wage.
You are your own advertisement by the work you produce. The better you are, the more you make. It is a competitive industry, and due to ignorance about our industry we really have to work hard to make a name for ourselves and our skills.
