Do you or did you use powder on ur child when changing their diaper?

A lot of mothers I have seen said you don't even need powder but then again they said if they just pee you don't have to use wipes either.

I used both wipes and powder when my son was in diapers.

thoughts?

  • Never used powder. I don't see the need to.

  • I used power only when they would look red and that seemed to help. I saw nothing wrong using powder.

  • I used wipes every time, but never powder. I did not want to cause respiratory problems for my kids from breathing in the powder.

  • I sprinkle cornstarch (I put it in an old spice bottle with a sprinkle cap) on my son. I also use a little bit of ointment every single time I change him, rash or no rash. He's really prone to rash, so I just do my best to prevent them in the first place.

  • I used cloth wipes most of the time, sometimes disposables, and we only used powder (cornstarch) when DD got a rash from staying with my mom (she refused to use our CDs and wouldn't buy Parent's Choice which was the only kind you can buy around here that DD wasn't allergic to), which was only once or twice because we told her she couldn't keep DD anymore until she either used our CDs or got the PC brand. I don't think anyone ever used baby powder on her, though.

  • I have 5 kids and have never once used powder on them and only use wipes when they are messy. They've all survived.
