  • I worked in a salon for a couple years, and I still do family and friends hair. I saw a lot of perms in the salon (yes, mostly older women), but like kimigoo said they are making a come back.Really cool spriral perms that are just pretty, not frizzy or poufy. I may even consider one as my hair grows out... And the formulas they have now are so much better for your hair and some of them even smell better!

  • I have one friend who always has her hair permed, and it looks really natural and pretty. I didn't know she had her hair permed until she mentioned it.

  • yes, they do. you'd be surprised what kind of permed hair is underneath certain stylings. and no, they aren't all grandma-perms.

  • I wondered the same thing. I haven't seen a granny perm in... well... forever!

I have shirley temple curls, so I have no use for a perm. But my sister used to get hers done all the time. She has pin straight hair.

  • I got one about two years ago & it looked AWESOME! I got the spiral curl. I'm thinking about doing it again soon, but I'm enjoying my straight hair at the moment. when i get sick of it, i will perm it again. Luckily, my hair is still very healthy. It really did not damage my hair at all. My hair dresser says that daily washing & blow drying are worse on your hair than getting a perm.

  • LOL, I'm sure there are some. I try so hard to straighten mine. I remember my Mom getting them all the time.
