  • Perhaps doing the paperwork yourself & representing yourself.
    Look into legal aid and see if you qualify as well.

  • I have looked into it before when my mom was getting divorced. You can do it yourself and there are websites that will link you to the right place to get the paperwork for your state. It still costs (almost $300 I think), and you and your ex would have to agree on EVERYTHING for it to work right. Otherwise, out comes the lawyers....

  • If you believe you won't have any problems with negoiating with the ex on child support and assets, you can go thru your state's website to find the right forms and have them filled out and taken to the courthouse directly and pay probably a minimal fee. that's what i did i only paid $150 to get my divorce
