Babysitting question

I have been a SAHM for several years now. Well it has came to an end. I have to go back to work. My question is rates for childcare. I live in Alabama. I have a friend who is also a SAHM offer to keep my two kids for $65 a piece each week. So, in all $130 a week for two. Is this ok or does it sound a little low? I am thankful she has offered and want to make sure she gets what she deserves.

  • Thats REALLY cheap for licensed care, I'm not sure what the average rates for unlicensed care are.

  • I do daycare in KS and I charge $125/ per child a week. That is the standard rate here.

  • That would be very cheap in this area (Texas), at least for licensed care of a 2-year-old. I pay more than that per week for my school-age child during the school year.

  • Sounds pretty cheap to me. I have paid $25 per kid per day. It all depends on how long she'll have your kids and whether or not she's feeding them, too.
