Is it difficult to get work in medical transcription? I heard it's being sent overseas.

  • Yeah, from what I hear, the market is getting really saturated, and so many jobs are being sent overseas.

  • I'm not sure as much about overseas. From what I heard it is being done more by computers now.

  • I've been doing it from home for the last 6 years. But it's true, with electronic medical recording, there aren't many of us left. Try going to an agency and see if they can help you.

  • As medical offices and hospitals move to Electronic Medical Records, or EMR, medical transcription and billing/coding will no longer be viable careers.
