Teething

So my son is 4 months old and I am pretty confident he is teething, except there is no tooth coming in yet. I've read about it and he has all the symptoms just no tooth. What can you do to help other than tylenol? I don't want to give it to him all the time but it's obvious he's uncomfortable..... first time mommy, not sure what to do now
