how many feet of lights would you need to deck out a 5 foot tree?

  • Oh jeez, I haven't even though about that yet, I am not sure how long each strand is, but we use at least 3 strands on a 5-6 foot tree.

  • It would depend on how many lights you want on the tree, if you are putting light all the way around it (if it's in the corner you really don't need to). I would recommend getting 4 boxes of 100 and keeping the receipt. You can always return what you don't use.

  • Depends on how full you want it. We put our lights on thick. We had a tiny 5' tall tree that was maybe 3 feet wide and I had to use 7 strands of 100 lights each to cover it. Now we have 6' tree that is almost 5' across and it takes about 12-13 strands to cover the whole thing. I've seen other people do their tree my size with just 5 strands but I was taught to put lights on differently (we wind around every single branch all the way to the back).
