What is your opinion on pre-school?

what do you think about pre-school?
do you think that families in nj are abusing it? and taken advantage of it and using it as a day care?
or do you actually see your child learning more and becoming a better person in the future???

my son is 3 he is in day care and he is such a smart little boy.
he can count to 130
says his abc's and already knows a little bit of math!
he is an incredible young man!

  • Well I like it. It's helping my daughter who is also 3 learn to talk and she gets to socialize with kids her own age. I am sure there are people who abuse it but the kids enjoy it either way.

  • My DD is 4 and has learning delays and low muscle tone so her physical/speech therapist reccomended that we try pre school and she loves it.

  • if your child can do all of that - he has learned enough for kindergarten already.... idk anything about nj - i do know when prek funding was cut in our state - our kindergarten students had lower entrance scores ... but we caught them up pretty quickly... but we had to teach much more socialization stuff...

  • Great for you but I have been working with those things with my and either I am not a good teacher or something cause he will NOT learn from me - I am far from a lazy parent and love and still try to teach him what a preschool would, however... not ALL kids learn like your very smart child..

  • Personally I think a lot of parents use it as a free babysitter here in our town. Our school system includes PK for 4 yr. olds and developementally delayed 3 yr. olds. There are actually parents that are mad that their child passes the screening so they can't come to school at 3.
