Do you talk to your cashiers?

When you check out at a store, do you speak to the cashier at all? I love it when I get a cashier that likes to make friendly conversation while s/he's ringing stuff up.

  • I don't because I'm shy but I do smile and thank them.

  • I usually do. Unless I'm on the phone.

Yes, I try and chat the cashiers up. At the very least ask them how they're doing. I worked for years as a cashier; I get it :)

  • I usually go to the same grocery store so I know most of the cashiers. We always make friendly hellos.

  • There are some I use to work with in my hometown and in the military town I use to live in. If there was someone I knew I would let them ring up my things. I like making small talk with em'.

  • Always, I worked in retail most of my life so I know how akward it can be when the customer doesn't want to be friendly.

  • Thanks guys! We cashiers enjoy helping people that like to make small talk. Helps the day go by. I work in a pharmacy so my small talk with customers is as important to me as it is them They need someone to listen and I love to listen to them.
