Do your kids have older grandparents or younger?

My mom had me when she was 20 days away from turning 30 and my dad was 33 and I didn't have my first until I was 28. (Second at 31 and third at 34). So my kids' grandparents are pretty old to them. (e.g. Grandma was 64 when my youngest was born.) Do your kids have older or younger grandparents and do you like the way it worked out?

  • My kids' granparents are 53(grandmother) and 56(grandfather). I have no idea how old the parents of dh are because we don't keep in contact.

  • my mom had me when she was 15 and I had my son at 18. My son is one and my mom is 34 so he has a young grandma.

I dont allow my dad around so he doens't know him as of now, and my SO's mom passed long before I even got to meet her, but she would be close to 50 at this point.

  • My dad is 74, mom is 66, and my inlaws are in their late 60s. We'll turn 40 this year and have a 3yo.

We were in no rush. It's been just fine.

  • My momi is 58, I think she is a pretty young grandma, she still can get around great, wants them whenever she can get them, plans trips with them.

My mother in nlaw is 69, but she acts 100,
My grandfather, who adores the kids also is 92, but acts younger than my MIL so I think it depends on how you feel.

  • I feel strongly about grandparents role in childrens lives. I had my first child at 20 and my third at 30 yo. My kids where able to have great grandparents and grandparents. Now they have two grandfathers and one grandmother still around. One more thing about having kids so young is your not too damn old when they move out of your home! Its awesome.
