Why does my cat get alot of gunk in his eye ducts?

I clean them everyday, but they just keep getting worse! Is it possible he has a cold? Its a brown discharge.

  • It is possible for them to have colds, allergies, or an irritant in their eye. Some breeds just produce more eye gunk than normal.

  • Either he's got a cold, or he's playing in a dirty area, i.e. flower pots, and dust or plant food gets in his eyes.

Also, it may sound funny but :
Is he one-coloured around the eyes ? If he's pure black, or pure white, he may not see well as the area around his eyes does not help him.
So, nature provides and a brown discharge may appear.
