Least "fishy" tasting fish!?

I usually eat halibut or wild salmon but someone told me to try tilapia. Tonight I had rockfish and it was too fishy to me. What do you eat?

  • FRESH fish shouldnt taste too fishy. But if you have to buy frozen or not the freshest, try to choose a wild caught white fish.

  • Shark, also sold as Flake, is the least fishy tasting fish I've ever had.

  • I don't like Tilapia personally but rockfish is nice. We are having Swai tonight, it's my favorite out of them all

  • I love tilapia (making it tonight, actually!). I make it in a pan, rubbed with olive or grapeseed oil with some chili powder on it, then served with fresh chopped cilantro and lime. Yum! That, halibut and wild salmon are about all we do here, too, as we don't like the super fishy taste.

  • I find the tilapia from the freezer section way too fishy for my taste. What I like is fresh caught perch - it's the only really non-fishy fish I've found.

  • Well it's really interesting to see everyone's comments. I'm super sensitive to anything fishy and I live on the Puget Sound and buy fish off the boat and sometimes it's still fishy. I'll have to try some of the others you guys suggest.
