If you EBF, how long before you got your period back?

My son will be 6 wks tomorrow and I'm just curious. I am hoping they stay away for a long long time!!

  • I EBF for 16 months and I never had one. But, then I never had one afterwords b/c of the Mierana. Not sure if it was breastfeeding of the Mireana that kept my period away.

  • I EBF for 17 months. I got my period back when she was 5 months old. I also had a mirena, and had have had regular monthly periods ever since. Everyone's body is different! And from what I understand, every pregnancy and postpartum experience with each child might be different as well. That one I can't tell you from experience though. I've only got 1 child so far. I'm only going based on family members' experiences.
