Any other LO that didn't like the pacifier?

We had tried to give it to DS, but he never took to them. Just curious if this happened to anyone else?

  • Pacifiers were invented to replace the breast for comfort. It is not unusual for breastfed babies to reject them.

  • Yep, soon as he figured out nothing came out of them, he wanted nothing to do with them.

  • My son never liked it, either. We would try it periodically, and he would occasionally accept it, but he was fine without it. One less habit to try to break later!

  • Mine took his for his first 3 months. After that, he wanted nothing to do with it. He started sucking his thumb for a while but kicked that habit real quick too. Now he only sucks his thumb if he is tired. (He's a year old).

  • My older son never liked them. He'd just spit them out if you tried to give him one. My 3 girls all used them until they were at least 2. My youngest son gave his up by 3 1/2-4 months all on his own. He just stopped fussing for one and I realized after awhile that he hadn't used one in days so tossed them all.

  • my daughter hated it, and she had quite a temper so we tried and tried...never did work. My son loved his.
