What budgeting worksheet/ planning service do you use?

Just trying to hopefully find a system that works for our family.

  • We are old fashioned and have a big calendar on the wall where we write in what comes in and goes out each day. Then at the end of the month, I use the blank space boxes to do the end of months books. I did college for accounting but it was about 10 years ago and we were taught the old fashioned way of doing books.

  • We just use an Excel spreadsheet. At the top we start with our total income for the month. Then we have rows for everything we need to budget. We set it up to atuomatically calculate when we put soemthing in the budget. Then we have two columns (one for estimated expense, and one for actual expense).
    We also use the envelope method where we budget cash for envelopes and once the cash in the envelope runs out...that's it until next month.
