how many months do you have to be to find out the sex of the baby?

  • I found out at 19 weeks this time and 18 weeks last time and they were right last time.

  • I found out at 20 weeks, but I think they can read it pretty clearly starting at 18 weeks.

  • I found out at 20 weeks but they can begin to tell at 18. The nurse at my OB/GYN's office asked me if I wanted to know the sex before scheduling and I told her yes so she said she would schedule closer to 20 or 21 weeks because that increases your chances of being able to determine gender.

  • With mine, they could tell at 16 wks. But that was a perinatologist!!

  • If you are told what you are having before 16 weeks, it's pretty unreliable. If you wait until 18-20 weeks it should be pretty accurate.
