Does anybody know of a hair-color product without harmful chemicals?

  • If you just want to lighten your hair, fill a spray bottle with half peroxide and half water. Spray in, comb thru, blow-dry or just let air dry. It adds highlights. Do once weekly and it will lighten each time just a little more. My friend also uses lemon juice and water mixed.

  • I agree with Henna! I've never used it myself, but next time I dye, it'll definitely be with Henna.

  • There are a few henna ones and others that you'll find in Natural food stores.....I was never happy with those and it's the only chemicals i'll use a regular basis

  • henna or other vegetable-based colors.
    HOWEVER, if you go this route you better be sure of the color you want because you WILL be stuck with it. unlike chemical coloring, it won't strip. so until it grows out you are stuck with it.

    and no anon... sally's products are not all chemical free, infact most are chemical!
