A lil bit trickier...(math 70)

Three times the difference between 5 times the number and 3 is 96.

Find the number and show how to write the problem.

• If I'm reading it correctly it would be 3 (5x-3) = 96. which becomes 15x-9 = 96. 15x = 105. x=7

• Wow, I took AP statistics and the way that was worded threw me too. Although once I saw it as 3(5x-3)=96 I was back in my element. Glad you got your answer, tricky question!

• Im asking because im taking an online class and im confused on some of the problems...the reason why i ask to write it out is so i can understand how to do it. Thanks.

No need to be rude....if you dont wanna help dont and move on so others who may want to help can.
