UGH, I just lost a long answer I typed! Okay, here I go again .. I've had this for years, been through several guards and I grind right through them. One dds recommended physical therapy, didn't follow thu so i don't know if it works. One recommended exercises, hard to xplain. One thing i do when I find myself clenching is to put my tongue between my teeth, like the upper and lower front teeth. Hard to describe, lol, but in a way so that if you tried to bite down you couldn't cuz you'd bite your tongue. Warm moist heat helps the pain a bit. Muscle relaxers like Flexiril or Soma at night. Also anti-anxiety meds like xanax or valium can help to relax you/your jaw so you don't grind at night.
