Anyone elses baby have shoulder dystocia?

Could you tell there was something wrong with their arm?

Did it heal on its own?

Did you do physical therapy?

When my dd was born you could tell her right arm was a bit limp..she could move it...but it just looked less active than her other arm.

She is now almost 4 weeks old and I can no longer tell any difference....she reaches her right and left arm up the same and stretches them....

I am just wondering if it could have healed that quickly!!!

  • My son did. They found it when he was in the NICU - he was rushed there right after birth, so I never really knew any different. They took care of it in the hospital, so I'm not sure if it would have healed on its own or not. He's now 13 and has no lingering issues and never needed physical therapy.
