My kids accidently let a kitten outside when it was warm

the problem is i heard the kitten meowing because she is cold. i tried to get her to come to me by using food , she will not do it. she used to when she was tiny but she seems to become more feral lately. so she runs. her brother however comes to us all the time and the other kitten well it never lets us touch it. it will sniff kids hands then run so no idea if a boy or a girl. the question is how to get her to come to us. she needs to get warm. we tried toys and food etc. nothing is working. and her mom has nothing to do with them since they were weaned.

  • When a cat starts to turn feral, it's going to be extremely hard to catch them without any kind of help. Probably the easiest and best thing to do at this point, since the cat won't let you touch it, is to get a humane trap (I believe you can rent them). Put some wet food in there, and wait. Hopefully, that way you can catch it, and start working on getting it used to human interaction again....

    Good luck!

  • I dont know if there is anything you can do? Maybe you can try some sort of a trap>? Get one of those travel cages and put food and a blanket in it and then do a stake out maybe? Once its in there you can close the door and get to it.

  • oh i have been there! lol the live trap Anouck mentioned is the best way. if you have fb or myspace or something put the word out you need a live trap. maybe if you can borrow one you won't have to buy one. i have several but i am sure i don't live near you. lol good luck and i hope you catch it before it turns completely feral or freezes.
