What does this mean..

I have this sugar cookie recipe that says chill dough for several hours before rolling out..what is "several" hours?

  • a few hours, like 4-5. I usually do mine the night before I plan to use it, chill it, then roll it out in the morning.

  • I have a bread dough recipe that says the same thing...I have interprited it to mean 3 to 5 hours...but I honestly dont know

  • I take it to mean no less than 4-6 hours, because it has to get cold all the way through. The thicker the blob, the longer it will take - if you patted it out so it was thinner it would take less time.

  • I would say atleast 2 hours. You want the dough to firm up.

  • I do 3-4 or until it is cold. It depends on how cold u keep your fridge.
