  • The only meals I schedule are breakfast and dinner for my DD because she gets a big lunch and a snack at school. If she wants a snack when she gets home from school, she usually just goes to the fridge and gets some fruit and milk.

  • No . . . I give them snacks when they are hungry . . . I am trying to get them to pay attention to their bodies and what it needs. During times when they are gearing up for a growth spurt, they are hungry and eat all day.

  • Its not a right down to th eminute schedule like you'd see in a daycare or school..but we have a basic routine going.
Breakfast between 8-8:30 (son gets on the bus at 8:44..so thats the way that one works out)
small snack bout 10:30 for the little ones at home with me(this is because they act like they are starving at this time and can't wait till lunch, lol)
Lunch between12:00-12:30 (followed by nap...and they always get tired by 12:30/12:45 and I want them to eat b4 laying down)
Snack again after waking about 3-3:30

  • I schedule dinners only. I also prepare them a few times a week and we eat leftovers for a few days. Otherwise my DD eats cheerio's everyday for breakfast (by choice) and she eats what we feel like preparing for lunch.

  • No. My husband's schedule is really crazy, so we work around that a lot. Breakfast is shortly after waking up (whenever that happens), snacks any time they're hungry until lunch which usually happens between 11:00 and 1:00, depending on what else we have goin gon and what time breakfast was, more snacks until dinner, usually around 5:30-6:00, snacks again until bedtime, which I do schedule at 8:00. Naps usually happen around 1:00, but I'm also flexible with that.

    Meh. Works for us.

  • Ok so I am not bashing working moms, I am asking a question. I am asking SAHM's mostly cause I am one and we USUALLY don't adhere to strict schedules. Geeze!

imaginationmama I do the same but lately they don't want dinner...

  • As far as when, yes. As far as what, not really. They get three "square meals" a day and three healthy snacks in between.
I have noticed that when I am more scheduled for meal plans I spend less at the grocery store ;)

  • You mean like a menu? I usually have a pretty good idea of what I am going to make for the week so I know what I need from the store when I go shopping (every Saturday), but I don't pre-plan the order much unless there are special things going on.

  • I use to schedule every meal and snack. But he's 3 now, we eat about the same time every day just cause that's how it falls. Supper is set at 6pm. He can snack pretty much when he asks but not within about 2 hours of supper unless it's fruit.
